Diving into a Unique Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Poop on a Quest to Reach the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is in full swing, and enthusiasts have encountered plenty of entertaining independent titles. Yet, one catches the eye for its offbeat concept. Titled Unko Technica, this old-school styled platformer lets you play a hero that is truly a turd trying to make its way to a restroom. In case you're wondering, "Unko" means "poop."

Player controls is straightforward: just use a jump control. Throughout 150 levels, encounter tough enemies and access a shop to acquire skins for your fecal avatar.

Execute your actions carefully, as a error requires beginning again. Jump on bubbles to propel yourself upward, navigate fragile surfaces, and interact with buttons to unlock secret routes. Gather currency for buying challenging stages in which things intensifies.

Visually, the experience shows off neon level designs and an amazing soundtrack. Its minimalist visual style of shifting basic polygons could recall gamers of classic titles like Earthbound.

Even though hard to recall similar titles where you play as a coiled turd, interactive entertainment have long featured fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players make explosives from protagonist droppings. Games like Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved utilize manure as fertilizer. And of course, fecal references is present heavily in the adventure The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its silly premise, Unko Technica has already garnered significant awards, such as winning at a major publisher's GYAAR Studio in 2023. A playable preview is available currently on Steam, with the complete version planned to launch on computers this November.
